About Jacky
A space to pause, reflect,
and move forward.
I’ve been working as a psychotherapist since 2001, beginning my career and core training in London before moving into postgraduate training here in Ireland: in Child Psychotherapy & Play Therapy and an MSc in Psychotherapy Studies with an emphasis in Existential Psychotherapy. I’ve completed a lot of further training in areas such as Child Psychology, Trauma Recovery, and Nature Therapy. My clinical work has also focused especially on marginalised groups such as the Traveller Community, people in poverty and addiction, and the LGBTQ+ community.
My ethos is person-centred and humanistic, with a strong interest in existential work. I believe clients ultimately know somewhere, more than anyone – what’s right for them; my role is to work alongside that, through genuine exploration and appropriate challenge, not passive reassurance. Growth and change starts with knowing and accepting yourself, as you actually are, not as you think you should be.
“The curious paradox is, when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” ~ Carl Rogers

MY Services

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by our feelings about things which happened in the past, or our current situation. Often the two can go together, as when we have not been able for whatever reason to deal with past issues, they inevitably affect our day to day lives. Other times, we may not be sure what it is that is making us feel bad or sad, anxious or just plain uneasy in our skin and not know why. My purpose is to assist you with expanding your awareness of the situations you are faced with, helping and allowing you to find your own solutions, come to conclusions that you are happy with and not told by someone else, and to be able to make your own choices.
